LEAN and the Theory of Constraints
Many companies and organisations have invested in the implementation of LEAN and Six Sigma.
In brief LEAN looks at eliminating waste throughout operations. Six Sigma reduces wast primarily by reducing variation and so to improve quality. Typically the two disciplines are paired together: Lean Six Sigma.
When combined with the Theory of Constraints a powerful extra benefit is introduced. The Theory of Constraints is providing focus to any improvement initiative and helps companies to select the initiates that will deliver the highest value.
The combination of these thee improvement disciplines is called the “Velocity Approach“, where the Theory of Constraints helps focus on improvement efforts that they have a real impact.
Through the application of LYNX during for example LEAN planning sessions, A-dato is able to help organisations to identify bottlenecks and areas with the biggest potential for significant improvements.
Contact A-dato for more information on how LYNX can be applied to make your LEAN initiatives really valuable.
